The administration highlighted that they are seeking the backing of the member states and that they are doing everything they can to reach a visa-free travel deal with the EU, according to EU Helpers.

Eamon Courtenay, Belize's Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Belize wants to pressure the Schengen nations to add Belize to the list of nations that do not require visas to enter the bloc, according to BBN.

Minister Courtenay emphasized that Belize has "a very strong case" and that the EU has already recognized it.

"Based on all of our preparation, and based on all the documentation that we have provided to the United Nations, we have a very strong case, and the United Nations has accepted that," Minister Courtenay said.

The rigorous visa application regulations were taken into consideration when Belize submitted the request to be added to the list of nations whose residents do not require a visa to enter the Schengen Area.

Currently, all Belizeans must travel to Mexico to apply for a Schengen visa, which makes it difficult for them to plan their vacation.

Belizean nationals are required to fulfill specific requirements in order to apply for a Schengen visa.

They must submit a visa application form that is entirely filled out and signed, two recent photos, and a valid passport that is at least three months beyond the date the traveler departs the Schengen Area valid. The passport cannot be older than ten years.

An itinerary or roundtrip reservation with dates and flight numbers indicating entry and exit from the Schengen Area is also required of Belizeans applying for Schengen visas.

Belizean nationals requesting Schengen visas must also provide documentation of having reserved lodging in the Schengen area, proof of having obtained traveler's insurance, proof that they have enough money to cover their living expenses while abroad, and proof that they have paid the visa price.

Depending on their employment situation, Belizean applicants may need to provide additional papers.

In addition to the above specified documents, those who are working must also present their job contract, most recent bank statement, leave authorization from their employer, and income tax return.

Students must produce documentation of their enrolment as well as the institution's statement stating that they have no objections.
