Reuters reports that the government has created a list of about 300 positions that non-EU workers' nations are not permitted to apply for. Among many other occupations, the list includes that of elevator technician, vineyard laborer, and photographer.
The Hungarian Ministry of Economy stated in response to the new regulations that the government wished to safeguard families and employment in Hungary. The same emphasized that, should there be a shortage of competent Hungarian workers, international workers might be considered to fill available posts.
Hungary's unemployment rate was 4.3% in September and November of last year, according to data. In light of this, the nation wishes to offer opportunities to its own residents before hiring foreign workers to cover positions in industries where there is a labor shortage.
