According to EU Helpers, the Finnish Ambassador to India, Kimmo Lahdevirta, sees the expansion of travel between the two nations as encouraging and anticipates that it will surpass 2019 levels in 2014.
The Ambassador talked about the visa application procedure and mentioned that the typical wait period for Indian nationals is currently two weeks in an effort to draw Indian tourists to Finland who are looking for quicker visa processing times.
Additionally, he made note of how little each nation is aware of the difficulties the other faces. To introduce each other to the respective populations, the two nations will need to keep cooperating.
Schengen Statistics show that 6,297, or 79.2%, of the 7,950 visa requests from Indian nationals to Finnish authorities were granted, while 1,323 of them were rejected. In general, Finland issues more multiple entry uniform visas to Indian nationals than some other European nations, like Austria (76%), Denmark (74%), and France (77%).
On the other side, Iceland (93.6%), Germany (88.4%), Switzerland (86%) and Norway (85.4%) are among the Schengen nations with a higher recognition rate for citizens of India.
In all, 671,928 Indian citizens applied for visas in 2022, and 80.5% of those applications were granted; the remaining 119,346 applications were denied.
