EU Helpers says that approximately 7,000 Kuwaiti citizens have received visas from the Kuwaiti Embassy thus far this year, according to Vlazny.
In comparison to the same period in 2022, this number of visas issued represents a 40% increase, allowing more travelers from Kuwait to enter Austria and Schengen as a whole.
According to Zawya, Vlazny predicted that Kuwaiti nationals will stay in the Schengen area for a significantly longer period of time since, in addition to visiting Austria, people with a valid visa are also likely to travel to other Schengen nations.
New visa guidelines for Kuwaiti applicants were previously issued by the European Union Commission.
According to the Commission's decision from September 8, 2023, member nations may now provide travelers from Kuwait Schengen visas with a maximum five-year validity duration.
Due to the elimination of the need to submit a visa application prior to each journey, Kuwaiti citizens seeking Schengen visas will be able to save time and money.
Zawya reported that Ambassador Vlazny stated that Kuwaiti travelers have already been given visas with a five-year validity period by the Austrian Embassy.
He also emphasized that not everyone would be given a visa with such a long validity term, based on the strength of their passport.
EU Helpers revealed earlier in August that Kuwaiti citizens will receive the highest visas per person in 2022.
Kuwait had the most granted visa applicants for 2022, with 3,203 awarded visas per 10,000 residents and an acceptance rate of 93.4%.
According to Schengen Statistics, approximately every third Kuwaiti who applied for a Schengen visa obtained a favorable response.
Kuwaiti nationals must present a number of documents when applying for a Schengen visa.
