Moroccan workers received 58,547 permits for temporary employment within the European Union, representing 30.5% of all authorizations granted to foreign nationals for seasonal work. This made Morocco the leading country of origin for seasonal workers in the EU.
Bangladesh followed as the second-largest nationality to receive permits, with 29,249 approvals, accounting for 15.2% of the total. India secured the third spot with 22,498 permits, or 11.7%. Other notable countries included Ukraine, which received 8,693 permits (4.5%), and Serbia, with 6,841 permits (3.6%).
The EU member states with the highest demand for seasonal workers include Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Portugal. In contrast, countries like Luxembourg, Austria, and Finland offer fewer seasonal work opportunities, though Austria and Finland experience higher demand during the winter months, offering more opportunities for temporary workers during that season.
This data reflects the ongoing demand for seasonal labor across various industries in Europe, particularly in sectors like agriculture, hospitality, and tourism.
