When announcing the plans, Minister Faeser stated that the task force and increased coordinated patrols will allow the three nations to take effective action against traffickers and identify and stop unauthorized entry into their borders, according to EU Helpers.
Czechia has already committed to joining the fight to prevent human smuggling, as the German Ministry of Interior explains.
The idea has been approved by the Polish government, who also said that they will expand the number of personnel stationed at the border.
Minister Faeser reported that Germany had concurred to enhance cooperative patrols after speaking with her Polish colleague.
Minister Faeser made sure that, in addition to the aforementioned precautions, the joint controls would have little to no impact on people, commuters, and trade.
The three nations have previously reached an agreement on some border security measures due to rising smuggling crime along the German border with Poland and Czechia.
Germany has made the decision to intensify boarding inspections at the borders with Poland and the Czech Republic, particularly along the alleged "smuggling routes".
Minister Faeser commanded the implementation of border checks with Poland and Czechia last week.
Minister Faeser, who ordered the border inspections, stated that the goal of this action is to put as much pressure as possible on traffickers while also defending those who are put in danger when attempting to enter German territory illegally.
Due to a sharp rise in unauthorized entry this year, the decision was made to intensify border checks with Poland and the Czech Republic.
Approximately 71,000 unauthorized entries were reported to the German federal police between January and the end of August of this year, with the leading countries of origin being Syria, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Iraq.
Additionally, the police disclosed that they registered more than 1,550 smuggling operations in just the first eight months of this year. Over 1,700 smugglers and over 20,300 smuggled individuals were found over the same time period.
