The number of Indian employees in skilled labour positions in Germany has seen a dramatic rise over the past decade. According to data from the Federal Labour Ministry, there were around 23,000 Indian workers in 2015. However, by February 2024, this figure had surged to 137,000, marking an impressive increase of 495 percent in less than ten years.
This sharp rise includes a notable increase of 23,000 Indian workers in skilled positions compared to 2023 alone. The growing presence of Indian professionals in Germany highlights the increasing demand for skilled labour in the country’s workforce.
In addition to employment growth, recent statistics also reveal that the unemployment rate for Indians residing in Germany stands at just 3.7 percent, significantly lower than the overall national unemployment rate of 7.1 percent. This suggests that the majority of Indian workers in Germany are successfully integrating into the job market and contributing to the country's economy.
