Job Description:
Position Title: Automotive Technician
Overview:
The Automotive Technician is tasked with conducting repairs and services on customer and dealership vehicles, adhering to management’s directives for productivity, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review vehicle history and relevant factory bulletins to address any outstanding campaigns.
2. Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems.
3. Present necessary vehicle work to management for approval and document proposed and additional tasks.
4. Procure required parts from the parts department and return any requested parts to customers or the factory.
5. Assist in maintaining customer retention and provide daily status reports.
6. Execute various vehicle repairs following approval and part acquisition.
7. Conduct test drives to diagnose and validate repairs.
8. Notify relevant personnel upon job completion and provide final recommendations.
9. Adhere to safety protocols, particularly regarding hazardous waste disposal.
10. Participate in ongoing education and maintain training and certification records.
11. Maintain cleanliness in work areas and ensure proper condition of personal and shop tools.
12. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college, technical school, or factory apprentice program; or three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
