More precisely, 16,401 out of 18,718 Bolivian applications, or 87.6% of the total, were sent to Spanish authorities; similarly, 66 percent of Dominican applicants and 40.2% of Cuban applicants made similar requests.
In 2022, only 14.59% of South American applicants were denied entry into Schengen countries.
Only a small percentage of South American visa applicants are rejected, as seen by their low rejection rate. The nations with the greatest rejection rates are Brazil (29.6%), Bolivia (31.4%), and Haiti (43.2%).
The following are the rejection rates for the best applicants:
Ecuador - twenty-two percent
The Dominican Republic: 22.4%
Cuba: twenty-two percent
Suriname: Twenty-three percent
Additionally, out of 100,000 residents, about 293 Dominicans obtained a favorable response on their visa application; in contrast, 314 Ecuadorians, six Chileans, 101 Bolivians, and about 2,145 Surinamese—the latter with a significantly smaller population (about 623,236)—received the same response.Visa Applications Drained South Americans' Bank Accounts of €17.2 Million

The nations that spent the most were those who applied for visas the most: Ecuadorians (€6 million), Dominicans (€3.5 million), Cubans (€3.1 million), and Bolivians (€1.4 million). Surinamese people spent the most per capita, at about €2.18. This indicates that the average citizen of the nation contributes €2.18 toward the overall cost of obtaining a visa.
