The Netherlands became a key player in the European Union’s intra-corporate transfer (ICT) scheme, issuing 2,725 authorisations. This number accounts for 25.2% of the total 10,831 ICT authorisations granted across the EU during the year.
Germany, Hungary, France, and Spain followed closely behind in ICT issuances. Meanwhile, the EU as a whole saw a 2.5% increase in ICT visas compared to 2022. However, not all EU countries were equally active in this area. Estonia did not issue any ICT authorisations, and 20 other EU nations granted fewer than 20 permits each.
Indian nationals benefitted the most from these transfers, receiving 3,886 authorisations, which comprised 35.9% of the total. In addition to India, nationals from China, South Korea, the UK, and the US collectively represented 74.1% of all ICT authorisations granted in the EU for 2023.
These numbers highlight the Netherlands' growing role in facilitating corporate mobility within Europe, while also showcasing the significant demand for ICT transfers from countries outside the EU.
