On September 29 in Batumi, Georgia, the World Travel Awards celebrated their 30th anniversary. During the occasion, various additional awards were given out in addition to the "Europe's Leading City Break Destination" award. According to EU Helpers, these awards recognized the top locations, attractions, and airlines from all around the world.

Porto was nominated alongside 11 other European locations for the World Travel Awards, which were all vying for the same prize. They are as follows: London, England; Paris, France; Rome, Italy; and Venice, Italy. Amsterdam, Netherlands; Athens, Greece; Berlin, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; Dublin, Ireland; Geneva, Switzerland; Lisbon, Portugal; London, England; and Paris, France.

Porto has thus far received the title of "Europe's Leading City Break Destination in 2023" for the third time; it also won in 2013 and 2020. Porto, recognized for its culture and history, is a must-visit since it has won three times, demonstrating its popularity as a destination for European city vacations.

It is not by chance that Porto has won this prize three times.  The city's investment promotion organization, InvestPorto, reports that in 2019, Porto welcomed a record-breaking 3.7 million visitors.

Furthermore, EU Helpers revealed in August of last year that Porto was named the most cheap city for students in Europe. These statistics show Porto's persistent efforts to draw tourists and elevate its appeal as a destination.

As evidenced by Porto's third victory, the city is a must-see for everyone seeking an unforgettable European city vacation. This honor demonstrates the city's tremendous allure and attractions, which are renowned for their rich culture and history.

Furthermore, Lisbon, Portugal, in 2022, and Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2021, have received this important title in recent years.
