Colombia's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Rojas, has welcomed a new declaration of intent aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for Colombian citizens in Germany. Currently, approximately 14,000 Colombians are employed in jobs subject to social insurance in Germany.
Additionally, Rojas highlighted the presence of around 3,500 Colombian students and 500 researchers in the country. Germany has established similar migration agreements with several nations, including India, Georgia, Kenya, and Uzbekistan, and has initiated a comprehensive migration partnership with Morocco this year.
While discussions are ongoing with other potential partner countries, German authorities have not disclosed any specific nations involved in these negotiations.
