They are now expanding the service to include Dresden and Prague beginning on March 25, 2024, following the successful introduction of the night route. According to EU Helpers, these new lines will establish train connections between the four European cities the next year.
The train line will connect Paris, London, and Brussels with just one transfer.
The Nightjet service between Paris and Berlin will launch on December 11, according to a recent announcement from the Austrian and German rail operators OBB and Deutsche Bahn. The service will leave from Berlin and make a return trip the next day.
The Dutch-Belgian night train company European Sleeper is dedicated to developing a more integrated and sustainable European transportation network. In addition, with night trains emitting substantially fewer greenhouse gases than other forms of transportation, they provide a particularly eco-friendly travel option.
As a result, they emit less greenhouse gases than 1/28 of what flying does. Additionally, a significant benefit of night trains is that they allow passengers to travel long distances while resting, thereby converting lengthy trips into overnight trips.
In conjunction with the travel agency Sunweb, European Sleeper is also getting ready to launch a winter night train service linking the Netherlands and the French Alps. This project is now in the works after having to be delayed last year.
The European Commission had previously given the European Sleeper Train line from Amsterdam to Barcelona clearance, making it one of the 10 pilot projects chosen earlier this year. This train service is expected to begin in 2025, although no financial assistance is provided at this time.
Additionally, the operator of the Dutch-Belgian night trains is in the process of acquiring refurbished and ultimately new rolling stock.
The company created history in May 2021 when it sold shares to over 350 small investors from around the EU and beyond, raising €500,000 in just 15 minutes. In a subsequent round, just before the summer of last year, 1400 new investors purchased shares worth €2 million.
The cooperative will now have more than 3,500 co-owners thanks to the continuing equity fundraising initiative, which will raise an extra €2 million.
