Extremadura, a region in western Spain, has introduced a specialized Digital Nomad Visa program designed to attract top talent from the tech industry. This initiative is aimed at highly skilled professionals who work entirely online and rely on digital media, IT systems, and telematics for their operations.
To qualify for this program, applicants must be fully committed to remote work and agree to reside in Extremadura for a minimum of two years. The program is open to international professionals living abroad, as well as those residing in other parts of Spain, provided they have not lived in Extremadura within the last six months.
Prospective applicants must already be legally residing in Spain and possess a foreign identity number (NIE) as indicated on their green EU certificate or non-EU TIE card. Additionally, non-EU nationals who are part of Spain’s broader Digital Nomad Visa program are also eligible to apply for the Extremadura initiative.
This program offers a unique opportunity for remote workers to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Extremadura while contributing to the region’s growing tech ecosystem.
