According to recent data published, Germany has emerged as the second most sought-after destination for Chinese nationals applying for visas, with a total of 160,479 applications. France leads the list, receiving the highest number of visa requests from China, totaling 271,111.
Chinese applicants enjoy one of the highest approval rates globally. In 2023, a significant 155,950 visas were granted to Chinese nationals, translating into an approval rate of 97.2 per cent.
On the other end of the spectrum, Estonia (603), Latvia (812), and Slovakia (895) are among the European countries that receive the fewest visa applications from Chinese nationals. However, some countries report lower approval rates for these applicants, with Slovenia (78.8 per cent), Malta (83.4 per cent), and Poland (85.4 per cent) showing the lowest success rates.
Overall, Chinese nationals submitted 1.1 million visa applications, out of which just over one million were approved, while 60,554 were rejected. The overall approval rate for Chinese applicants stands at an impressive 93.36 per cent, making Europe a favorable destination for travelers from China.
