Starting from June 1, 2024, Poland increased the application fee for national long-term visas (type D) from €80 to €135. This decision, announced by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed to cover rising consular administration costs and improve the efficiency of visa processing. Additionally, the fee for examining Schengen visa applications (type C) also saw an increase, aligning with EU Commission regulations.
The adjustment was expected to streamline visa processing and reduce waiting times by optimizing resources and expanding capacity for first-time visa applicants. The Ministry highlighted that the change was expected to eliminate visa queues, reflecting broader efforts within the Schengen states to standardize visa fees and enhance the overall visa application experience.
The new fee structure underscored Poland's commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of its visa services while ensuring transparency and fairness in the application process. Prospective travelers and visa applicants were encouraged to stay updated on these changes and consult with EU Helpers for assistance in navigating the updated visa procedures effectively.
