Poland has established diplomatic ties with all 193 United Nations member states. Apart from these, Poland maintains diplomatic relations with non-UN entities including the Holy See, the Palestinian National Authority, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and the Republic of China.
Poland operates embassy-level diplomatic missions in 94 countries worldwide: 41 in Europe, 26 in Asia, 14 in Africa, 11 in North and South America, and 2 in Australia and Oceania. Among these embassies, 78 are headed by ambassadors, while the remaining 13 are led by chargés d'affaires ad interim. In certain countries like Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, managerial positions are held by chargés d'affaires or other diplomatic roles. Vietnam and Kazakhstan do not currently have a head of post at their Polish embassies.
In addition to embassies, Poland maintains 10 permanent representations to various international organizations, with ambassadors representing Poland in key locations including the UN offices in Switzerland, Austria, Kenya, Italy, and the USA, as well as at organizations like the OSCE in Austria, NATO in Belgium, the EU in Belgium, the Council of Europe in France, and the OECD in France. Moreover, Poland maintains diplomatic relations with entities that are not universally recognized, evidenced by its representations to the Palestinian National Authority and the Polish Office in Taipei.
