France has recently introduced a new residence permit designed specifically for medical professionals from non-EU countries. Known as the "Talant Profession Médicale et de la Pharmacie", this permit offers a streamlined process for foreign doctors, dental surgeons, midwives, and pharmacists to work in France without the need for an additional work permit.
The permit is valid for an initial period of four years, with the possibility of being extended up to three times, allowing medical professionals to establish their careers in France for an extended duration.
This initiative is aimed at attracting highly skilled healthcare professionals to fill important roles within the French medical and pharmaceutical sectors, helping to address workforce shortages and enhance the quality of care available to the population.
Medical professionals who wish to take advantage of this new permit must meet specific criteria relevant to their respective fields, but the introduction of this scheme is seen as a significant step in facilitating the entry of non-EU professionals into the French labor market.
