While a Letter of Invitation is not always a mandatory requirement for visa applications, including additional supporting documents can significantly strengthen the application. Although hosts are not obligated to send any documents along with the invitation, providing some of the following can be very beneficial for the applicant:
1. Scanned Copy of Host’s ID or Passport: Including a copy of the host's identification can help verify their identity and establish a clear connection between the host and the guest.
2. Evidence of Financial Support: If the host will be covering the guest's expenses during their stay, submitting proof of financial means can demonstrate the guest’s financial stability during the visit.
3. Proof of Accommodation: Providing documentation such as a home ownership deed, a rental agreement, or other proof of residence shows that the guest will have a place to stay during their visit.
4. Itinerary of Planned Activities: An itinerary detailing the places the host and guest plan to visit together can illustrate the purpose and structure of the guest’s trip.
5. Proof of Time Off Work: If the host has arranged to take time off work to spend with the guest, submitting a document that verifies this can further support the application by showing the host's commitment to the guest's visit.
Even when not required, these documents can greatly enhance the credibility of the invitation and positively impact the visa application process.
