These adjustments took effect on October 4th.
The UK government has recently enforced a significant surge in visa fees starting this month, affecting students, skilled workers, and immigrants. Under the new regulations, various categories will experience an increase, such as visit visas for periods under six months, which will now incur an additional £15 (approximately ₹1,500), and student visas for international travelers will be £127 (approximately ₹12,750) more expensive. These adjustments, which came into effect on October 4th, encompass a wide range of visa types, including visit visas for different durations, entry clearance fees, applications for leave to remain, including those for work and study, indefinite leave to enter and remain, health and care visas, fees related to sponsorship certificates and acceptance for studies, as well as applications for British citizenship through registration or naturalization.
According to the official website, family, settlement, and citizenship visa costs will rise by 20%, while work and visit visa fees will increase by 15%. Additionally, the immigration health surcharge (IHS) will escalate to GBP 1,035 per year. The upcoming changes in visa fees for students and their dependents will see an increase to GBP 490. However, it's noteworthy that there will be no fee hikes for short-term English courses spanning 6 to 11 months.
