As of January 1, 2025, the minimum monthly wage in Lithuania has been increased to €1,038, reflecting a 12.3% rise from the previous rate. This change sets the hourly minimum wage at €6.35 and applies uniformly to all employees, regardless of skill level or profession.
Lithuania enforces a universal national minimum wage, meaning there are no separate wage thresholds for skilled or unskilled workers. The updated wage standard is part of a broader national strategy to enhance living conditions and address income disparities across the country.
In addition to the base salary, employers are obligated to comply with labor regulations concerning overtime and other compensations. Overtime worked during holiday nights, for example, must be compensated at a rate of no less than 2.5 times the standard wage. Although a 13th-month salary is not a legal requirement, many employers choose to provide performance-based bonuses as part of their compensation packages.
This wage increase marks a continued effort by Lithuanian authorities to support workers and foster a more equitable economic environment.
